Providence is calling a Engineer Building/Plant (Facilities Support, Shift, 0.0) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Understand the needs of the customers and prioritize work personal assignments and efforts towards meeting these needs.
Clearly and consistently communicate agreed upon Facilities Support priorities, standards and desired outcomes to hospital staff.
Act in the Director's absence on matters affecting the department.
Routinely review the performance of the Facilities systems; equipment and processes against key codes, standards and indicators, and takes action when necessary to improve outcomes.
Individually and/or with consultant assistance, conduct regular detailed review of all facilities managed mechanical, electrical and other systems and components to identify potential points of failure, relative risk.
Understand and stay current on relevant standards, advancements and industry trends in the Facilities equipment field.
Oversee technical training and competency needs of Facilities staff.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Valid driver’s license for the State of Alaska
10 years experience as a Building and Plant Building Maintenance Mechanic and/or plant operator/engineer with progressively increasing technical responsibility, including at least 1 year in a leadership role
A total of 5 years specialized training or experience in 2 or more of the fields of electronics, the operation of high-pressure boilers, mechanical chilled water systems, medical gas and vacuum systems, ventilation systems, and the operations of emergency generators in a hospital like environment.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
BS or AS College Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or may substitute equivalent experience for degree
2nd Class Alaska Boiler License
