Calista Corporation Intern-Accounting in Anchorage, Alaska

JOB SUMMARY This position participates in Calista’s 10-week Summer Internship Program from May 24, 2018 - August 3, 2018.

The Accounting Intern will learn how to provide support in maintaining project and general ledger accounts, assist in monitoring cost, funding, and revenue. The Accounting Intern may also learn how to prepare reports, general ledger reconciliations, and audit documents.


  • Perform basic account reconciliations.

  • Perform general administrative tasks such as filing and data entry.

  • Enter accounts payable vouchers.

  • Enter timesheets.

  • Assist with project accounting.

  • Perform account analysis.

  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Considerable knowledge of personal computer use, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.

  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.

  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.

  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.

  • Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Currently enrolled in a college or vocational degree program and attending classes on a full-time basis.

  • Currently enrolled in Accounting/Finance degree program or courses preferred.

  • Must possess a GPA of at least 2.0 and be in good academic standing.

  • Ability to pass a background, drug, and credit check.

  • Valid current Alaska Driver’s License with good driving record preferred.

Calista Corporation has a fast paced multi-tasking office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. At times, work is performed outside of the office at indoor and outdoor job sites. Adaptability regarding schedule and design changes.
