Calista Corporation Intern-Administrative Support in Anchorage, Alaska

JOB SUMMARY This position participates in Calista’s 10-week Summer Internship Program from May 24, 2018-August 3, 2018. The Administrative Support Intern is responsible for providing administrative support through receptions, office and document organization, processing and recording documents, and general support.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greet and assist customers, answer phones and direct calls; with excellent customer service.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite Programs Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Process, record, track, and file educational applications, and have contact with customers.

  • Assist with fundraising and event coordination and activities.

  • Create, copy, fax, organize and file office documents.

  • Work with hard copy and electronic documents and send and receive emails.

  • Sets appointments, arrange conference rooms, meeting rooms, or event locations, and coordinates attendance to meetings or events.

  • Provide basic administrative and clerical support.

  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Requirements:


  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Considerable knowledge of personal computer use, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.

  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.

  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.

  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.

  • Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Currently enrolled in a college or vocational degree program and attending classes on a full-time basis.

  • Currently enrolled in Business Administration, Public Relations or similar degree program or courses preferred

  • Must possess a GPA of at least 2.0 and be in good academic standing.

  • Valid current Alaska Driver’s License with good driving record preferred.

  • Ability to pass a background and drug screening.

  • Ability to speak Yup’ik preferred.
