JOB SUMMARY This position participates in Calista’s 10-week Summer Internship Program from May 24, 2018 - August 3, 2018.

The Legal Intern serves as support to the General Counsel in all Company administrative and business units regarding corporate, securities, commercial, transactional, contract, employment, shareholder records, and real estate matters.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide administrative support to legal staff.

  • Observe and assist with department programs, services, and other tasks.

  • Prepare project reports and progress summary on assigned tasks.

  • Operate various software applications to create departmental level communications and reports.

  • Conduct special research in conjunction with a project and analyze gathered data.

  • Attend meetings and trainings to acquire knowledge and skills within the department.

  • Comply with Company policies and procedures.

  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Considerable knowledge of personal computer use, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.

  • Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.

  • Ability to participate in group meetings.

  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.

  • Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Currently enrolled in a college or vocational degree program and attending classes on a full-time basis.

  • Currently enrolled in law-related degree program or courses preferred.

  • Must possess a GPA of at least 2.0 and be in good academic standing.

  • Ability to pass a background, drug, and reference check.

  • Valid current Alaska Driver’s License with good driving record preferred.

Physical Effort: Frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs., and hand/eye coordination. Visual Acuity: Frequent close/distance vision, ability to adjust focus.
