Summary/General Description of Job:

Responsible for assisting in warehouse operations including physically receiving, storing, handling, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment. The incumbent ensures an adequate supply of usable stock is maintained for all departments in compliance with government, corporate and management directives.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Assists the Property Specialist and property custodians in performing and conducting inventories of all center equipment, and reconciliation of the inventory to property records as needed.

  • Maintains records on all stocked consumable supplies to provide accurate usage data, reorder points, lead-time and stock levels.

  • Updates and maintains a detailed inventory catalog for inventory supplies.

  • Processes and cross-references incoming property and supplies with purchase orders to ensure correct products or services are rendered.

  • Processes correct purchase orders into a computerized system to ensure prompt payment of vendors and expedient distribution of needed products for Center consumption.

  • Processes and inputs Inventory Supply Requisitions (ISR) into the computerized accounting system, to fill and distribute inventory supplies for Center use.

  • Assists in screening of surplus property and preparation of transfers on equipment being transferred from other sources.

  • Coordinates storage notification shipping and/or disposal of student belongings in accordance with Center guidelines.

  • Tracks incoming and outgoing laundry, including scheduling drop off and pick up.

  • Acts as property custodian for property assigned to the warehouse area, including conducting quarterly and annual inventories, and maintaining accountability.

  • Promotes student attainment of career success standards through modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students, monitoring skill acquisition and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed.

  • Provides customer service to the Center by providing help with questions on expendable inventory items as well as status on purchase orders.

  • Ensures warehouse is open in accordance with posted hours.

  • Fulfills warehouse transportation requirements by using warehouse truck to pick up purchased items and/or pick up or dispose of property.

  • Maintains warehouse to ensure it is clean, safe and presentable at all times; keeps trash to a minimum by removing it daily.

  • Maintains and organizes storage areas for Center records and miscellaneous supplies.

  • Maintains accountability of students and property. Adheres to safety practices.

  • Cultivates and maintains a climate on Center which is free of harassment, intimidation and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.

  • Performs related work as assigned.


  • Two (2) years of warehouse/inventory management experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Forklift certification within sixty (60) days of employment.

  • Must be able to obtain commercial driver’s license (CDL) within ninety (90) days of employment.

  • Obtain and maintain mandatory DOT/CDL medical certification.

  • Successfully pass and participate in the mandatory DOT/CDL drug and alcohol testing program.

  • Successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
